HP Pavilion g7-1219wm Notebook Sleeping Mode/Hibernate Issues

HP Pavilion g7-1219wm Notebook Issues

Issues with the sleeping or the hibernate mode

Here's the thing with these computers when you close the lid and open it after a few minutes the screen remains black or just won't turn completely giving you only one option, shut it off by force.

So I made a few changes in the energy settings for some reason they're not set correctly, this is why this issue is common with these models.

Here are the steps of what I did:

In the power saver settings change sleep mode to hibernation.
1) Right Click the power icon on your task-bar and select "Power Options".
2) Next to your active/selected Power Option, Click "Change Plan Settings".
3) Click "Change Advanced Power Settings".
4) Under "Power Buttons and Lid", make sure "Lid Close Action" is set to "Hibernation".

If that doesn't work for you then you'll need to replace the CMOS battery, (BIOS battery)

Here's how to do this:

1- Go to ebay and get the battery, you'll find it by the name "CMOS battery" + your model (HP Pavilion g7-1219wm) once you get the replacement is very easy to replace it.

Here's the link to ebay if doesn't work then try by typing it into the search bar.
